Dear Willow Grove Parents and Friends,
As the 2018-19 school year comes to a close, I wanted to share the deep gratitude felt by every member of the Willow Grove Educational Foundation for our school community's commitment to enriched education. Your support has kept vital programs at Willow Grove and is helping the Foundation provide even more next year!
It's easy to assume that programs such as P.E., music and science are a given at a school like Willow Grove. Or that kindergarten aides, reading impact teachers and classroom technology are supplied by the school district -- but they're not.
Instead, our parent community chose to listen and support the Foundation -- in the form of donations, auction bids, sponsorship, event attendance and much more. In fact, this year each of our three major fundraisers -- the Golf Tournament, Grizzly Growth Fund and WillowFaire -- experienced the highest net revenue ever thanks to your support!
Our spring fundraiser, WillowFaire, raised an amazing $95k for our Grizzlies! With 260 attendees, this event brought our school community together for a beautiful night of food, music and friendship -- all while raising nearly six figures to fund critical programs and teachers at Willow Grove. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a success, including room parents, teachers, donors, sponsors and attendees.
Thanks to the generosity of Willow Grove parents, the Foundation's fundraising success this year means that we can keep the following staff and programs next year:
Weekly music
Weekly P.E.
Resource Scientist and hands-on science lab
3 kindergarten aides
5 reading impact teachers
1 enriched math teacher
50% more school counselor hours
Classroom technology
In addition, the Willow Grove Educational Foundation will also be able to fund the following:
Math impact teacher
Two new Chromebook carts
Replacement technology
These are needs identified by the Willow Grove teaching staff and it's our honor to be able to fulfill them thanks to the support of our parent community.
